I am a solo law practitioner in the small town of La Verne, CA. I am looking for an in-office hire.
The ideal candidate must have experience in handling Probate matters. It would be wonderful if you had Trust Administration and Estate Planning experience too.
Candidates should be proficient in the drafting, collection and organization of documents, forms and information, meeting with and assisting clients via phone or zoom, obtaining necessary records & reports, drafting pleadings and discovery, calendaring deadlines on a firm calendar, etc. Candidates should feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups and keeping all documents important to the cases organized in an online database. The ideal candidates are proactive, detailed-oriented, team players with the ability to work well independently and maintain a high level of attention to all details and timeliness of deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Draft Probate and Trust Administration, obtain documents and records from clients and state and local agencies, be familiar with all aspects of Probate and Trust Administration in the State of California
- Review and edit legal documents pertaining to Probate & Trust Administration in the State of California
- E-Filing
- Calendaring deadlines, scheduling of Probate & Trust Administration deadlines
- Meeting with clients via phone or zoom when necessary
- Create and maintain electronic case files
- Facilitate the meeting of attorney deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Conduct legal research
Qualifications
- Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in the above listed areas for 3-5 years
- Status must be full-time; must not have prior commitments as a W-2 employee
- Daytime availability, Monday - Friday (we can discuss flexible schedule)
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate
- Experience with Microsoft and willing to learn case management system (Clio)
Hours and Compensation
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Compensation: Compensation is $25 per hour. Payroll is bi-monthly
